The Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF) is preparing a series of upgrades to make its climate data easier to use and access.

ESGF, an open source initiative led by Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) along with Argonne and Lawrence Livermore national labs, “gathers and distributes data for top-tier projections of the Earth’s climate.”

“ESGF data are about the future of life on Earth,” says ORNL researcher Forrest Hoffman. “By providing scientists easy access to the full collection of international models, ESGF enables them to make the very best guess about the future trajectory of our climate.”
