Linux DevOps is the practice of “using Linux-based systems and tools to build, deploy, and manage applications in a continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) environment,” explains Luke Reynolds.
If you’re looking to transition into DevOps, either from system administration or some other role, this article describes several tools and technologies to learn. For example, Reynolds says, “DevOps practitioners should be comfortable with automating processes. This means scripting out manual processes, setting up CI/CD pipelines, and streamlining task execution.”
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and monitoring and observing processes is also important, says Reynolds.
