The European Commission (EC) has outlined plans for making “gigabit connectivity available to all European Union (EU) citizens and businesses by 2030,” reports Joe O’Halloran.

The proposed Gigabit Infrastructure Act includes regulation “to put forward new rules to enable a faster, cheaper, and more effective roll-out of gigabit networks.” It also aims “to accelerate network roll-out by reducing administrative barriers and costs,” O’Halloran says.
