To fill the growing number of quantum jobs expected in the next two decades, major tech companies, including IBM, are addressing the current gap in quantum skills, reports Nancy Liu.

For example, “one of IBM’s main goals is to educate 30 million people in tech by 2030, including quantum, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, cybersecurity, and enterprise computing,” Liu says. 

The company’s quantum training initiatives include the online Qiskit Global Summer School — a virtual two-week event providing a focused introduction to quantum computing and its applications — and a quantum developer certification program.
