Azure Event Grid now support last will & testament (LWT) capabilities in public preview, enhancing Event Grid’s MQTT broker feature.
The new functionality is in compliance with MQTTv5 and MQTT v.3.1.1 specifications, and makes it possible for applications to receive notifications when other clients get disconnected, creating predictable and reliable flows of information during unexpected disconnections.
LWT capabilities are particularly important in scenarios where real-time communication and coordinated actions are critical, for example when Internet of Things (IoT) devices need to collaborate to execute intricate tasks.
