FerretDB, which is offered as an open source alternative to MongoDB, is now generally available, reports Renato Losio. 

The project, which is released under the Apache 2.0 license, “allows developers to use existing PostgreSQL infrastructure to run MongoDB workloads.” … “FerretDB works as a proxy that translates MongoDB wire protocol queries to SQL, with PostgreSQL as the database backend,” Losio says.
