GraphQL has experienced a remarkable surge in popularity among developers. Its ability to streamline data fetching by enabling API consumers to request the data they need precisely has transformed client application development. GraphQL has emerged as a preferred choice for building modern, scalable, and responsive applications. Azure API Management already supports securely publishing GraphQL services as APIs and creating new GraphQL APIs from existing REST APIs.
Today we’re further expanding Azure API Management support for GraphQL. We are thrilled to announce the public preview of Azure Cosmos DB and Azure SQL resolvers for GraphQL in Azure API Management. This new capability enables customers to define new GraphQL APIs in Azure API Management that expose data stored in Azure Cosmos DB and Azure SQL databases. With the Azure Cosmos DB and Azure SQL resolvers, customers can create GraphQL endpoints using a straightforward low-code approach with Azure Cosmos DB or Azure SQL as their backends, reducing complexity and accelerating the development of sophisticated GraphQL APIs.
