The HTCondor scheduler cluster type will be retired due to very little usage and high maintenance cost. Users can migrate to one of the remaining schedulers supported by Azure CycleCloud. The project code will be archived in GitHub and no longer maintained as an active open-source project.
The existing experience that CycleCloud HTCondor scheduler cluster type offers will no longer be supported starting 30 September 2024. Although you can still use CycleCloud HTCondor scheduler cluster type on Azure CycleCloud 7 and Azure CycleCloud 8 beyond 30 September 2024, this will no longer receive updates from Microsoft. When you bring your workloads to future versions of Azure CycleCloud, the workloads may work but will be unsupported.
Required Action
The HTCondor scheduler cluster creation will no longer be available via the Azure CycleCloud GUI. HTCondor scheduler users must switch to manually importing the legacy GitHub project to create new HTCondor scheduler clusters by 30 September 2024.
