“It’s becoming increasingly clear that we’re going to need an AI Bill of Materials (AIBOM),” says James Governor.
Such an AIBOM would provide detailed descriptions of sources, weighting, biases, etc. and “need to consider and clarify transparency, reproducibility, accountability and Ethical AI considerations,” he says.
In this article, Governor surveys the current landscape of AI regulation, such as the EU’s AI Act, and notes that “from an enterprise perspective we will need to get a much better understanding of the models we’re using, and what went into them. … Trust and safety are not the enemy.”
