The Blender Foundation has released Blender 4.0 as a major update to the free and open source 3D graphics software, reports Marius Nestor. 

The latest edition of the cross-platform tool, which is available for GNU/Linux, macOS, and Windows systems, introduces light and shadow linking, provides specific nodes for controlling tool-specific data, and other new features.
