The Linux Foundation is entering the generative AI era with the launch of Generative AI Commons, reports Sean Michael Kerner. The project “was quietly launched in September and has progressed steadily in the months since then.”

The LF AI & Data Generative AI Commons now has more than 100 active members, and its mission involves fostering the advancement of “ethical Generative AI open source innovations through neutral governance, open and transparent collaboration and education.”
