Tech jobs come with flexible schedules. Between 8:30-10:00 AM you arrive at the office; just-in time for the daily standup. Before the meeting starts, you quickly grab a coffee. During the standup you sync with the rest of the team and briefly mention an issue that one of the clients experienced. You agree on discussing this further with one of the devs after standup in order to resolve it quickly. After that you continue with writing the tests for one of the user stories that is part of the current sprint. You briefly check with one of the Back-End developers that your test is indeed delivering the correct results.

It is 12:30, and you are quite hungry. Today is Friday, or in the company’s terms ‘French Fryday’. You go to the canteen on the fourth floor and enjoy a meal of fries and snacks. The fries gave you some renewed energy.

After lunch you have a meeting scheduled with DevOps about a load test we need to perform on short term because of a major release that is coming up. Just before the weekend starts, you finish your report on the results of some of the tests you recently performed. You want to make sure to draw detailed and accurate conclusions from this about the quality of the product, so you can advise the dev team on some improvements during next week’s backlog refinement meeting.
