Direct, manage and coordinate logistics and operations related to a multinational internet service provider. The Logistics Manager provides a support function in logistics and supply chain management to the Field Operations teams. The role covers a broad range of responsibilities including procurement, specific import and export details, distribution, warehousing and facilities management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain sufficient inventory and accuracy to ensure uninterrupted field activities.
  • Ensure that activities are in compliance with laws and regulations of the host country regarding the import of equipment.
  • Resolve, in collaboration with the Director of Logistics, any issues pertaining to delays in equipment delivery to Field locations and seek ways to resolve these appropriately.
  • Safeguard execution of Logistics Department by establishing and monitoring procedures and protocols.
  • Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the department to ensure that targets are met.
  • Participate in project meetings and report on progress therein.
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.

Required Competencies, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in standard business office software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to think independently and handle multiple projects through to completion.
  • Record of successfully collaborating with and influencing senior management and peers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff.
  • Demonstrated independent work initiative, sound judgment, diplomacy, analytical ability and professional demeanor.
  • Able to make effective presentations to diverse groups

Education / Experience:

  • Significant experience in managing complex projects, preferably with a degree in logistics/operations management.
  • Multilingual candidates strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel experience
  • Prior experience of working in logistics/supply chain/transportation function with a comprehensive knowledge of logistics processes and procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of technical regulations related to logistics such as import/export and customs regulations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of technical internet specifications is preferred.

This position reports to the Director of Logistics and is located onsite in Halfweg, The Netherlands.
