The Linux Foundation’s OS-Climate project has released three open source analytic tools for tackling the global climate crisis.

The release of these tools, which were developed by OS-Climate members BNP Paribas, Allianz, and Airbus, respectively, opens the door to “the global community of academic institutions, government agencies, modelers, and software developers for further powerful collaboration,” the announcement says. The three tools are:

  • Physical Risk & Resilience Tool, which helps identify and quantify risk related to climate resilience
  • Climate Portfolio Alignment Tool, which helps financial stakeholders align portfolios with the Paris Accord target temperature increase of 1.5 degrees Celsius
  • Transitional Analysis Tool, which enables corporations to model, test, and conduct scenario analysis for strategic climate-aligned decisions

The tools also use the OS-Climate Data Commons, “which will act as a public utility of corporate and other climate data.” Learn more about the OS-Climate community on GitHub.
