JMeter is an open source testing tool from the Apache Software Foundation. “It mainly implements performance tests by simulating concurrent loads, a common performance testing method in the open source community,” says Chongyuan Yin.
JMeter, Yin says, also offers:
- Built-in support for multiple protocols, including TCP, HTTP, and HTTPS
- A flexible plug-in extension mechanism
- Great community support
