Software developer Lars Wirzenius shares his memories of “the earliest days of Linux, its creation, and the start of its path to where it is today” in a recent article for LWN.net. 

“Linux is now a global success, but its beginnings were rather more humble, says Wirzenius, who studied computer science at the University of Helsinki, where he met Linus Torvalds.
