Support for TLS 1.0/1.1 on Azure Cache for Redis ending on 30 September 2024

Azure Cache for Redis will be retiring support for TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1 on 30 September, 2024. TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1 are known to be susceptible to various security attacks and there is an industry wide push towards enforcing TLS 1.2 for secure communication. Azure Cache for Redis will start enforcing TLS 1.2 for all connections starting October 1, 2024. 

Before 30 September 2024, please ensure that you take the following steps: 

Starting October 1, 2024, connections to Azure Cache for Redis instances which use TLS 1.0 or 1.1 will be blocked. Please refer to detailed instructions here to know how to ensure your applications are connecting to Redis instances using TLS 1.2.
