The OpenStack community has released Bobcat, the 28th version of “the world’s most widely deployed open source cloud infrastructure software,” reports Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols.

With 10,476 changes from more than 580 contributors, OpenStack Bobcat includes:

  • A resource lock feature for OpenStack’s shared filesystem
  • Time-based, one-time password (TOTP) authentication support for the web dashboard
  • New schedulers for more precise control of resources
