Microsoft Entra ID is the new name for Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). The rename and new product icon are now being deployed across experiences from Microsoft. Most updates will be complete by mid-November of this year.

As previously announced, this is just a new name, with no impact on deployments or daily work, and no changes to capabilities, licensing, terms of service, or support.

Based on feedback we received from customers, resources are available to help you change the name in your experiences.

Additionally, Identity emails will now be sent from Microsoft Security (MSSecurity-noreply@microsoft.com). The emails are currently coming from Microsoft Azure (azure-noreply@microsoft.com). You may need to update Outlook rules as a result.

When this will happen:

Resources are available now. Email changes will occure from mid-October to mid-November 2023

What you can do to prepare:

Review and utilize the resources to update your content as applicable and update any email rules that may be associated with azure-noreply@microsoft.com.
