Many companies offer over 100 different tools and applications designed to enhance employee productivity and collaboration. Today, organizations customize and fortify their application stack to unlock their employee’s best work, but this introduces challenges. Applications are often disconnected and operate in their own data silos, hampering an employees’ ability to manage, access, share, and create knowledge.

Employees struggle to find relevant information because information and business context is often siloed across multiple applications. Depending on the job function or industry, everyone has a preferred application in which they complete most of their work. For example, product managers may prefer Asana or Smartsheet, engineers use the Atlassian Jira suite, and sales leads prefer a customer relationship management solution. Even then, work today is largely cross-functional and requires teams to collaborate across multiple applications. Research suggests that employees spend nearly two hours a day manually searching for information inside apps and switching between tasks hindering their ability to focus and complete their work.

Additionally, completing simple workflows like following up on a client email with the latest project summary requires employees to complete multiple actions such as creating, summarizing, evaluating, and updating content within email, chat, file storage, and project management applications. Studies indicate that employees use an average of six different tools to complete a project.

With finite amount of time in the workday, these types of mundane activities limit a user’s ability to focus on more critical or strategic tasks. This fundamentally takes away from delivering value to an organization in the form of new innovations, contributing to revenue growth, or identifying ways to reduce costs.

Using AI typically requires collecting sizable amount of data, training a model for a specific task, and fine-tuning it until it produces the desired results. Recently, it has become easier to infuse AI into business operations with the growth of fully-managed AI services, including those offered by AWS. However, the latest buzz is around how generative AI significantly reduces the time to generate content and complete tasks.

Join us at AWS re:Invent 2023 to learn how AWS AppFabric is working with leaders in the industry like Anthropic, Miro, and Asana to apply the latest generative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to SaaS application experiences. In this session, we’ll discuss how AppFabric integrates multiple applications together to improve employee productivity using generative AI.

Add BIZ109 to your re:Invent agenda, and join us on Thursday, November 30th to learn more. Can’t wait? Get a jump start on the content by watching some of AppFabric sessions that took place at AWS Applications Innovation Day.
