We’re excited to announce the public preview of new disaster recovery features for Azure Database for PostgreSQL – Flexible Server. These updates make keeping your data safe and accessible easier than ever.

With Virtual Endpoints, your database connection stays stable, no matter of the current role of your servers. This means if you need to promote your read replica to primary, your apps will keep working without any changes.

Also, the new “Promote to primary server” feature lets you switch roles between your primary database and its replica quickly. This is crucial for disaster recovery and running recovery drills, ensuring minimal disruption and smooth operations even during unexpected issues.
