The role
As a fast-growing Game Hosting company, we are growing our Agile Development teams with Back-end PHP developers on medior and senior level. Our Bare Metal Cloud is infrastructure automation to the max, allowing Bare Metal server delivery within 15 minutes after the order with a rental period of 1 hour. Read more on Bare Metal Cloud.
Our main challenges are:
- Making sure gamers all over the world can play their most favorite games without any interruptions. This requires high availability and reliability of our automated server infrastructure.
- Building advanced server delivery automation to deliver any server to any worldwide location within 15 minutes after receiving an order.
- Continuously improving inventory health by building software for automatic validation. Faults are displayed on a ‘inventory-to-fix’ overview for our InfraOps team.
- Collaborating with the InfraOps team to prep software for new operating systems or types of hardware and deploying new locations.
Together with the rest of the development team and the Product Owner, you define the technical solutions to these challenges. We believe the hosting solution holds the key to success of server deliveries and we rely on our developers to make sure we offer a stable and reliable platform. Our Agile Development teams are self-organizing. So, you are not only a highly skilled technical person, but also a team player with good communication and coordination skills. You know all about the Agile mindset and enjoy taking responsibility. We are continuously looking for ways to improve and therefore expect you take the initiative to do so.

Your Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the development of our Bare Metal Cloud.
- Together with the team, you translate complex functional requirements and features into technical design and architecture.
- You play an active role in the development team. We value the input of any team member, junior, medior, or senior. We believe software development is a team effort and every voice matters.
- You take care of close collaboration between Back-end developers and the Product Owner in a proactive way. In the end, you are all responsible for making the sprint goal.
- You take part in overall software development improvement initiatives with the other development teams.
- As a senior, you also coach and assist junior and medior colleagues by sharing your knowledge and experience.
Your Skills
- You have a passion for PHP and follow the latest developments in your expertise field. You also have relevant experience with PHP frameworks such as Phalcon, Laravel, or Symphony.
- Experience with famous Linux (Debian, CentOS, Rocky Linux, etc.) operating systems is a must.
- We intensively make use of RabbitMQ and Docker. Experience with any of these is preferred; experience with ElasticSearch and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Bare Metal Cloud combines infrastructure with software. Experience with the automation of infrastructure such as server installation (PXE) is preferred. Knowledge of server hardware, experience with operating system management, and layer 2 network knowledge is a plus.
- You have experience with Microservices architecture and preferably also with the design patterns involved.
- You have experience with OOP and RESTful API interfaces.
- Experience with writing unit tests, TDD, and CI/CD is a plus.
- You know how to work with GIT workflows.
- You are experienced in working in a team and have an Agile mindset.
- You have at least 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
